Cooper Lighting Solutions’ AI assistant is officially out of beta and available to everyone. Ask any product question in plain language and get a clear, sourced answer straight from official Cooper Lighting documentation, with no digging through PDFs.

It is 4:45 on a Friday, and a specifier needs one answer: will this control pair with that outdoor fixture? The answer exists. It is sitting in an official compatibility document, somewhere, alongside the spec sheet, the installation guide, and the IES file. Finding it means opening a dozen browser tabs, guessing at part numbers, and hoping the right PDF surfaces before the quote is due.

What is Hey Coop!?

Hey Coop! is an AI assistant from Cooper Lighting Solutions that answers your lighting questions in plain language, in seconds, using Cooper Lighting’s official product documentation. Ask it the way you would ask a colleague (“which downlight works for a healthcare corridor?”) and it responds with a real answer identifying products that will work in that space.  You can click on the product links, continue asking more clarifying questions to narrow down the recommended products, or request the specific documents or files.

What makes it credible in a professional setting is where the answers come from. Hey Coop! is grounded, which means it answers from Cooper Lighting’s official documentation rather than the open internet. No AI assistant is perfect, and answers should still be checked before they go into a specification. The difference here is that checking takes one click instead of searching the website yourself.

Ask in plain language.  You do not need a part number. Describe the space or the job, and Hey Coop! understands what you mean.  Responses are drawn from official Cooper Lighting documentation and it will provide links to the products that it recommends for your job or space.

Find files fast.  The IES File Locator returns the applicable IES files the moment you request it by catalog number or name, no folder-by-folder digging.

Covers the catalog.  Specs, installation guides, compatibility, drivers, and LED boards, all in one place.

Why not just ask a general AI?

It is a fair question, and the answer is the whole point. Type the same lighting question into a general-purpose AI assistant and you will get a fluent, confident reply assembled from whatever it absorbed off the open internet. Sometimes that is close. Sometimes it invents a part number, cites nothing, and has no idea whether the product is still available or what actually pairs with it. For a casual question, that is fine.
