Greater Together at Landings Golf Club: A Customer-First Lighting Solution
The renovation of The Landings Golf Club clubhouse on Skidaway Island created an opportunity to enhance the member experience with a beautifully illuminated putting green adjacent to the clubhouse. Working together, Georgia Power, SouthCon, and Cooper Lighting delivered a solution that supported evening play, preserved the club’s aesthetic, and reflected Signify’s commitment to “Greater Together” and “Customer First”.
A project centered on the customer experience
The project’s goal was clear: provide sufficient illumination for evening putting while maintaining a comfortable, visually appealing environment for members. SouthCon’s application engineering team designed a lighting layout that met IES recommendations and required a 25-foot mounting height to achieve proper light distribution.
A solution designed for performance and value
The final design included:
- 10 decorative poles
- 20 Epic luminaires
SouthCon recommended Streetworks’ Epic luminaire to both Georgia Power and The Landings because of its WaveStream™ optic technology, which delivers excellent optical control and uniform light distribution across the putting green’s undulating contours. Equally important, the fixture’s Visual Comfort Optics provide soft, low-glare illumination that is easy on the eyes—an important feature for golfers putting in the evening hours near the clubhouse.
Coordinated Execution Under a Tight Timeline
The project required exceptional coordination to meet the club’s ribbon-cutting deadline. In a strong show of commitment, SouthCon and Cooper Lighting’s regional sales manager, Marc Reasor, coordinated production and hand-delivered the luminaires within a compressed timeframe so installation could be completed before the celebration.
This reflects Signify’s Customer First value and behavior—removing obstacles, supporting the customer’s schedule, and delivering a seamless experience. It also demonstrates Greater Together, with partners working side by side to achieve a shared goal.
A successful result and a stronger partnership
The completed installation has been a success, giving The Landings Golf Club a beautifully lit putting green that enhances both function and experience. Members now enjoy an improved clubhouse amenity that supports evening recreation while complementing the property’s upgraded look and feel.
The project also strengthened the partnership between Georgia Power, Cooper Lighting, and SouthCon, creating new opportunities for future improvements across the Skidaway Island community. It’s a strong example of Greater Together—and of the value created when we put the customer first.
