Enjoy all the benefits of connected lighting technology in a sleek, versatile surface mount luminaire. Unlike recessed lighting, there’s no housing or “cans,” making it an easy way to replace existing light fixtures with smart, energy-saving LED. The BLD4 Smart Surface Mound Downlight is easy to install on most junction boxes (including pancake boxes) along with recessed housings. It comes with all that HALO Home Smart Lighting System has to offer: wireless ON/OFF, dimming to 5%, and white tuning (2700K-5000K) along with more advanced features like Groups, Scenes, Schedules, Timers and more. Install the free mobile app on a smartphone/tablet to pair and wirelessly control these lights via secure Bluetooth connection. While compatible with standard ON/OFF switches, install HALO Home Controllers for optimal performance. Controllers provide HALO Home Smart Lights constant power enabling them to strengthen and extend your HALO Home mesh network by repeating system commands and respond to commands from any Controller, including smartphones. Install these Smart Lights on the Accessory Dimmer or Scene Keypad. This will provide them with constant power so they can receive wireless commands from any HALO Home Controller, including the mobile App.
No. These need to be installed on HALO Home Controllers or can work with a standard ON/OFF switch.
Yes. While our Smart Lights and Smart Light Adapter prefer constant power, they can be operated by standard ON/OFF switches.
Typically 600 Lumen downlights are installed at 8 or 9-foot ceilings. For higher installation, consider the Lumen Select Smart Recessed Downlights.
HALO Home accounts have a 200-device maximum.
Yes. Just install the optional HALO Home Bridge to enable voice control with Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant and remote access.
No. Once these lights are paired into your account and commissioned you can use HALO Home Controllers to wireless control ON/OFF/Dimming (or use standard ON/OFF switches).
If you need to reset HALO Home Smart Lights, try removing them from the app first. If that does not work, then: Power cycle them 4 times: OFF for 2 second + ON for 5 seconds. After a successful reset, the light will blink once and then dim down to 5% at 3000K to indicate being unclaimed. It will blink twice on subsequent power cycling until it is claimed with the app.
